Watershed Impact
BACKGROUND
We all live in a watershed. A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains to the same place, such as a creek, lake, sea, or ocean. This includes water that flows on the surface and that is located underground. No matter where you live, runoff flows to a nearby waterway.

For this task, you will learn about watersheds as you explore the “Project Wet” website (link is provided at the end of instructions). Once you open the website, you will:
-
- Click on the intro tab to view the video on the left side of the screen,

THINK ABOUT THE FOLLOWING
-
- What do you notice happening to the watershed?
- How do you think contaminants (trash, animal waste, factory waste, runoof) affect your local watershed?
- What are some things that you can do to protect and take care of your local watershed?
REFLECT
What do you enjoy or do not enjoy about hands-on activities?
